Hey Cliff

How did you route the hose from the pump to the front drain? I take it you took out the sink entirely, which is no problem since it is a silly place for a sink. Interested to know how you did it and if you get back-siphoning when heeled to starboard. Scott

If you drill a hole through the floor of where the sink is you should be able to snake it up through. The through is high enough out of the water that we have not gotten any water coming back through. Some friends have there's hooked up this way also and the sink is out. They have a hanging locker instead. I will be doing that also over the winter. The extra locker would be more useful than the thing they call a sink. Cliff

Rear End

Hank, I routed my bilge pump discharge hose under the floorboards, through the cabinet under the galley sink, through the starboard cockpit locker and out the stern. This works very well and there is no chance of siphoning water back from waves or heeling. The pump is under the square lifting section of the cabin sole next to the dinette. I had to drill holes through the fiberglas stringers under the floor boards and through the plywood wall separating the cabinet from the cockpit and the stern but these were easy. I used a nylon thru hull fitting through the stern and caulked with 3M 5200. I used an Attwood 500 gph pump with built in automatic float switch. This pump is minimal but does a good job for my purposes. If I were sailing coastal or on a body of water with big waves where serious water might come on board I'd go with at least 1000gph. In fact, the only time my pump has ever been used was to test it or to pump drainage from the ice box. HTH Dick Vance
