Can't Resist Any Longer!

On my boat it is anywhere you can get it.

Headroom

I own a 23.5, a nearly identical but older model. It does not have standing headroom with the hatch closed. Just guessing, but I'd say it about 4'8" -5'. There is plenty of room for a 6 footer like myself to sit, but using the head is a challenge. With the hatch open and the optional canvas camper top there is standing headroom in the area enclosed by the camper top. This is one of the disadvantages of a water ballast boat as the ballast tank takes away headroom. I love my 23.5, but the primary creature comfort feature I'll be looking for on my next one will be standing headroom. Alan Long

no headroom

You will be forced into stooping all the time. You eventually get used to it, but it creates a sense of claustraphobia. You can sail with the top slid back and can stand in the cabin while under way, but your head is actually outside. After 5 seasons I traded for a larger boat. The 240 served us very well and was a very nice upgrade from a San Juan 21. It's fairly easy to rig and makes for a great sailing camper. I didn't make much use of its trailerability which is great for touring and lake hopping. Joe
