Hunter 240 - Water Ballast Opening plate on hull

Is there supposed to be a rubber gasket between the plate (that closes the water ballast entry opening by the keel)and the hull ?

Yes - I changed mine

When I painted the bottom of my 23.5 the gaskey was torn and I repleaced it with a new gasket that we made out of some heavy rubber material.

Gasket - Crazy Dave may know

The yard I was working out of had some rubber gasket material. I forget the thickness but it was in the .mil format. Not very thick but thick enough that you could feel it when it was tightened down. Crazy Dave any ideas?????
