Thanks to the response
Thanks to all who responded, I have a vehicle that can pull the 26, I was just thinking that I would be more apt to do more trailer sailing with a 235 or 240. As far as the mylar sails go, they weigh less and seem to allow me to point higher, I don't remember the price, but I think about 25% more then the dacron. They were made by Somerset sails in NY. The main has a fuller roach with a loose foot and gives me more boat speed in lighter air. You also have to reef sooner. I also have a A-Spinn. for off the wind. I can hold my own with a Merrit 25 or J-24 to the first windward mark, but after that I lose some ground down wind. I raced a S2 7.9 and Capri 25 for years, so that may have something to do with it when I race against inexperienced racers. Anyway, the 26 is a great boat with lots of room, I just thought it would be easier to trailer the 23.5 or 240 and not have to give up the big cockpit. Again, thanks for the comments.Ken
