Hi, does anyone know the exact height where the potty goes in the H240? I expect it is around 13 or 14"... my boat is in storage so I can't measure until the spring. An inch or so actually makes a difference with the various potty/marine toilet types. Thanks, Jeremy

Don't Have the Measurements

I have however measured it and the larger pumpable porti-pottie will not fit, it is too tall. There was a suggestion to cut a hole in the platform that makes the v-berthand use the top of the pottie to support the cushion but it is still too high for that. You could however cut a hole in the floor and set the pottie on top of the ballast tank that would give you the clearance.

Thanks Rick. I think I will avoid cutting the floor. There are fairly new regulations in Ontario that you need a pump-out, a portable toilet is not allowed. If I am going to cut a hole in my boat for a pump out, I may as well try and increase my capacity as this is a problem. I expect my only option (other than just a MSD Sani-Potti) is to put a holding talk in the vberth with a pump toilet (short one) in place of the potty. Anyway, I guess I will think about it some more.....

Not new regulations

Portable toilets have been illegal in Canada on Canadian flagged boats on the Great Lakes and other Ontario and Quebec inland waters for as long as I can remember. It's not really enforced against transient foreign flagged (mostly would be US vessels who'd be small enough to have a portapotty)...I dunno how stringently it's enforced against Canadian vessels either as long as they're not caught dumping the tank over the side...I just know it's been a law on the books for a long time.

If you do opt to go with a manual toilet and a holding tank, I'll be glad to help you spec out the best way to do it...all ya gotta do is whistle. :)
