The 2nd annual Hunter 23 National Regatta was just completed last weekend at Russell's Point, Ohio on beautiful Indian Lake. The Indian Lake sailing club has a fleet of 7 H23s and there are 3 more on the lake outside the club. We held the first "Nationals" there last year with 11 boats competing and all had a wonderful time. This year the event was repeated with equal success. There were 10 boats this year with 3 coming down from Toledo and one trailered all the way from Iowa. We've had a great time at these events meeting other H23 owners and scoping out each others boat modifications. This year's champion was Ken Alexander from the Perrysburg Boat Club sailing "Stars 'n Stripes" I think his secret weapon was his recently decorated flag motif on his rudder. Very sporty! We are in the process of setting next year's date. We are also trying to rejuvenate the H23 Association. Any interested skippers please contact me at sailordog@hotmail.com for more info.
