Hunter 1986 Eagle Mountain Lake, Azle
I own and love my Hunter 23 (1986). The White "U" shaped outboard motor bracket (mount) that is bolted to my transom is cracked and weakened and the motor sags lower in the water. I'm afraid it will break off and drop my 7.5 hp motor in the lake. When I google I must not know what to call it. Where can I find a replacement?? All I find on the web is metal brackets.

Any help is appreciated.

You might like an adjustable motor mount. I switched out the OEM bracket that you are talking about on my 1986 Hunter 23 with a Garelick adjustable mount and loved it. If you are certain you want to stick with the original type of mount you are probably going to have to look for a used one. I still have the old one in the garage. It has some crazing and surface cracks, as I expect all of them will, but it is sound and didn't drop or worry me with a 5hp Mercury on it, but you have a lot more weight with a 7.5, especially if it is a four stroke? You might be a lot better off just buying an adjustable mount.
