Is this pretty accurate as to how a 23' sits on a trailer? Maybe minus the lack of board between the botom of the keel and the support on the actual trailer.

Thanks,

Dave

The one I originally posted was as close to what i think mine will look like when done. it's some boat up north. I put up some pics of my trailer welding process. It's has not been to bad. I made some improvements along the way. I will paint most oof it with that POR-15. Good stuff.

Thanks,

dave

Mine looks pretty much the same, and also does not quite touch the bow supports.

That's how mine looks. What's up with the front roller? Mine doesn't seem to stay put no matter how tight I get it. It always works its way forward.

That's how mine sits on the trailer also. My H23 also does not tighten up to the bow support either. See my post "Hunter 23 Trailer" of a few weeks ago. It generated a lot of similar concerns and possible solutions. Jim

The vertical post/roller is for guiding the floating boat onto the trailer. When hauled to level ground the boat should not be resting on this roller. As Dave Condon explained in Jim's prior post; to draw the boat into the winch stop haul the winch hard and drive a few miles down the road and haul the winch hard again, repeating as necessary to bring the boat into the stop, thus achieving proper tongue weight. The road vibration in combination with forward tension is more effective than the "MacGregor stomp", which seems to create more stress on the trailer and tow vehicle than it does helping move the boat forward.
