Hunter 23 Mast problem

I have a Hunter 23 mast made by z-spar.. The mast fell and landed on the port side spreader and bent the spreader into the mast. Now there is a tear in the metal on both sides of the spreader. A gash that goes into the mast and on the other side a tear that has pulled away from the mast. It looks like the spreader will have to be removed and that will leave atleast a 2x2 hole. My question is. Is this repairable? or do I need a new mast? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about this misfortune but the good thing is nobody was hurt and this can be repaired.

I had a very hard time locating a Hinged Mast Step Ass'y w/ 4-Sheave Exit Block for my 22 but Rig-Rite had it. :dance:

You didn't give the year of your Hunter 23 and it may not matter but just make sure you have the proper dimensions before ordering.

Z-spars is a French company that oversees US Spars.

The correct way to repair this will involve cutting it at the spreaders and splicing it back together with a sleeve that extends into either side by a few feet. Not for the faint of heart by any means.
