I bought my 1986 Hunter 23 last spring which turnout to be the best investment that I have made for a very long time. Living in Indiana, the boat has been out of the water for the winter so this is a good time to replace any thing connected to the hull. The flex drain hose connected underneith the deck (by the tiller) is showing it's age and I am wondering if there is a exact replacement for this flex hose? It looks well constructed. If not, any suggestions out there. It looks like it could last a couple of more seasons but I would like to go ahead and replace it. Thanks

I think the general consensus

is to replace it with a piece of flexible automotive radiator hose, with 2 hose clamps on either end.

Why didn't I think of that?

I have been been thinking and searching the internet for a solution for over a month without success. It only took a few hours on the message board. Thanks again. I think the reason why it took so long is that I have moved away from flying (I am a licensed private pilot) to full time sailing ever since I bought the sailboat last spring. For an airplane you would of had to have exact replacement parts. Have you ever heard of a $100 window latch for a small airplane, it's true (it looks like a $10 latch). Experimenting with small changes on the sailboat is a whole lot more fun. You don't have an aircraft mechanic telling you what you can or can not do to the airplane. On top of that, the pilot is highly restricted on doing the repair himself.

what?

That looks nothing like the part, except that it's hose-like? I mean, i guess it would work.
