Greetings to all!

We acquired an H23 some time ago and just recently got it in the water. I am puzzled however, by an area on the port side aft, just ahead of the transom. There is a pin that is installed in two elevated bosses into the fiberglass that lies parallel to the side of the boat, with a cleat just aft of it. It is labeled "boom lift" and frankly, I have no idea what it might be for. Anyone with any thoughts?

Thanks much!

+1 for Dave's request. It may be what Hunter used as a cleat - is there another similar rod on the starboard side? Mine has 2 pins or rods or whatever you want to call them, one per side, and they are for attaching lines. The cleat aft of it may have been added by the prior owner. I don't know why it would be labeled as a boom lift if so - I'd call that a topping lift, and that would not normally have any lines to either side of the deck or hull.
