Greetings, Reading several reviews and discussion forum threads for the Hunter 23.5 there seems to be a general consensus that the trailers Hunter sold with the 23.5 model were not the greatest. Can I get some opinions, specific concerns and maybe even some ways some existing 23.5 owners addressed this issue? Thanks in advance! Regards, John

I figured out how to use the archives for past years to search on model specific information. Great tool! I would still welcome any input 23.5 owners care to supply though. John Haley

Not a Bad Trailer

The single nongalvinized axle is the only issue I have with it. A #3500 pound capacity was fine for leaving the factory but when you start adding stuff to the boat it is going to be over that weight. On the other hand the problems I remember hearing are things falling off because the bolts loosened and fell off or broke. There was one whose axle spindle broke off but I think he blamed it on rust. If you keep on the maintanence on the trailer it will be fine. Tighten your bolts often especially the ones on the guides and fenders. I have added a second axle to mine and a bow roller like the ones on the 240 trailers. The bow roller helps considererably in getting the boat all the way up to the bow stop.
