Hunter 23.5 Augusta
I ordered a new stock "OEM" roller furling 110% jib from one of the discount sail warehouses. I was sure I checked the measurements, but when put the new one up, it looked way too high off the deck. Laying the two sails together the new one is definitely smaller. My original sail swept the deck with a luff of 25' and foot 10', this new one has a luff of 22.8', 10.75'
Don't know how I got the measurements so wrong, but my options are try to resell it or use it as is.

I did an image search for Hunter 23.5 and see boats with roller jibs off the deck, almost to the bow pulpit rail.

So my question is - are any of you 23.5 sailors using these "short" sails, and how well do they work?

If you are sailing with the wind abaft the beam... the short sail might have a better shape as it won't be deformed by the pulpit... you can also see under it.

It will be OK if the sheet tracks can handle the difference.. Unless you are seriously racing, you won't notice a difference, and as rgranger says, seeing forward better is a plus in traffic..
