I have been able to determine that the Hunter 23.5 and 240 centerboards are not the same. A new mold will need to be built which will need a centerboard to splash from. Hunter does not have the original mold. Therefore, here is a proposal to the first party who will agree.

If anyone is willing to send their old centerboard for a 23.5, I will cover half of the cost for shipping within the continental U.S. to Florida. A new centerboard will be sent back to you for free. I said it for free. If you want the old centerboard back, then you will have to pay for shipping. Only one person will get this deal. The first one who is interested, contact me thru the forum email.

There are some without centerboards who cannot sail at this time and I really need your help. OK, ANY TAKERS?????????????????

Thank you Dave and well spoken ......I am without a board and my boat is unable to sail without it. I also would be willing to help with the cost of shipping and would offer to buy the used board from the donor board owner.

Thanks again Dave and any fellow 23.5'rs who can help.

Caverun;

When ever a lien is mentioned, then should anyone buy the boat and the current owner has not cleared that lien, then no one can title it without taking care of the lien. In addition should a person buy the boat he could well be liable for the lien.

I was able to find out that the Hull # is HUNA2025I293 last registered to a Mr. Brickey with the lien holder as central fidelity bank. Central Fidlelity was purchased by Wachovia and now it is Wells Fargo Bank that has the title.

The registration lasted till 2001 and nothing since then. With all said, I would avoid that like the plague. It sounds like the person on craigs list may be one to avoid like the plague
