I have been sailing and following 23.5's since 1994. I have never heard of a fixed keel version; only water-balasted with a swing keel. These features allows Hunter to promote this and several other models as the ultimate in trailerable cruisers.
Hi Dave I believe that the 23.5 was introduced in 1993, and all 23.5's are water ballasted. Anything older than 1993 is a Hunter 23, which has a fixed fin keel in all the ones I've seen. Hope this helps Alan Long S/V Random Access (1994 23.5)
