I was wondering if anyone knew what hole in the starboard stern compartment is. Currently, there is a plug coming through the hole that is not hooked up to anything. Secondly, this is probably the stupidest question of all time, but how do you change the bulb in the stern light? I can't seem to get the cover off, and I don't want to break it. Thanks!

The stern light just should need to remove a retaining screw, on my 22. the hole you speak of i am not sure what you are talking about. There is a drain hole that has a hose that allows water to drain into the cockpit from the compartment.
Maybe if you post a picture.

Good luck

The hole I'm not sure what you are talking about without a picture. As for the stern light I just replaced mine, remove the screw in the light to get it off the hull in the back side of the light are two more screws to get the lens off. Be very careful if your doing this over the water, the lens comes off in pieces and the screws are small...easy to drop!!!! I had trouble finding a replacment bulb it's an oddball. Had to check two or three stores before finding one.

If you are talking about the small compartment in the cockpit then it's supposed to be an ice chest with a hose and drains into the cockpit. If you're asking about the locker in the cabin in the starboard quarter birth, then it's the original drain for the sink.

I know the hole you're speaking about, my H22 has it as well. On my boat the charging cable from the outboard and the vhf cable to the radio go thru it.

If it is in the stbd gas tank locker it is probably for the electric wire from the outboard for the charging coil to the battery.
