hunter 22 outboard motor bracket

I just bought a 8 hp honda outboard Xl shaft which weights 100 Ibs and I was wondering if the outboard motor bracket that came with the boat will handle the weight. I have a 7.5 evinrude on it now and it lists to starboard pretty good now. I don't know why Hunter would put the outboard motor the gas tank and the porta potty all on one side. Any how I haven't taken delivery on the honda yet I was wondering if I should get A 2 stroke instead.I was thinking of the 5 hp honda but lake michigan kicks up sometimes where I don't think it would have enough power. Any help would be appreciated. thanks George

Presently my 81 H22 has a 1981 7.5 evinrude. I find it to have plenty of power. And easy to maintain. I as well have the motor,6 gallons of gas and a porta potti all to starboard. Offsetting that is a battery and a 5 gallon water dispenser to port.(no way am I drinking out of the old water tank, after I saw the lines running to and from it.) Happy Sailing
