I've got the previous version, the H216. Same hull, but made from ABS plastic not fiberglass. Plusses & minuses in the material change. When they went to the H22 designation, they also killed the VARA balanced rudder which fits inside the boat like a daggerboard. This was a big improvement particularly for shallow water. The VARA rudder was good enough, and the stiff bearings were actually good for single-handing because it held the rudder somewhat for a short time without a tiller-keeper. Unfortunately, it did not kick up so you risked rudder damage if it fouled against the bottom. There are extensive and accurate comments in the Boat Info section of this web site. Have fun with your new baby!
