2 22 lake lanier
I have recently acquired a hunter 22. I am planning on sailing mostly on a local lake, but was wondering what I could look forward to in the future. Could I sail around the keys, or possibly the Dry Tortugas in this boat? I am fairly new to sailing, so it won't any time soon, but I was just wondering what I can look forward to. Where have you taken your hunter 22?

I have a hunter 23 - the lightweight cousin to your boat. I've taken it across Lake Ontario, a 40 mile open-water crossing, at night, through a thunderstorm and gusts to 40. Would I do it again? Probably not - but she held up!

I've been to the Dry Tortugas in my 23 with another aboard, with another brand 21 single handed along. I feel my boat is as capable as I am, and more. It has been a matter of experience and preparation; I plan excursions for a year or so and sail during that time anticipating them so to better plan. I figure as long as she floats and the wind blows I can go anywhere, keeping in mind anything can happen. What I find on extended sails is wondrous, and if chance has it I find my end discovering the best of living I can't think of a better way. I've had what seemed rather lofty goals (for me) sailing, but having accomplished them just keep dreaming. When Cuba opens up I will go there, and then who knows? Dream, prepare, and then amaze yourself.
