My brother-in-law has got the hots for a Hunter 212 but is concerned about how the boat handles. We looked in the archives without any success. He had a tired old San Juan 21 and didn’t care for it much at all. The boats look to be fairly similar in dimensions with the Hunter just being a 35 year newer design. The main questions are; Is the boat very tender? Anybody know what the centerboard weighs? Is it responsive? Is it over or under canvassed? Does it give a good fun seat of pants feel? Any problem areas to look for when shopping for a used 212? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
