Hunter 1996 H 26 Trailer Instruction Manual?

I have a 96 H26 and the trailer has no manual with it. I got by ok for last season but had difficulty releasing the trailer from the ball connection on my vehicle...

There is a sliding switch and another adjustment seems frozen...

Any ideas? Instructions? Manuals? Any help is welcomed and thanks in advance...

Trailers do not come with manuals so you’re on your own. The ball release mechanism may need some oil or it may be adjusted to tight. First check to make sure you’re using the correct ball size. Look up underneath the trailer hitch, there may be an adjustment nut to set the fit of the hitch around the ball.

It's possible that your hitch isn't OEM anyway so post a picture of the hitch you have. For another resource you might check with a local tool rental or a you-haul trailer rental to see if they have a similar hitch as yours and what they do for maintenance.

photo please of the brake actuator or the braking mechanism as some would say is bolted to the front of the trailer would be most helpful.
