HUNTER 18.5 Havre de Grace
Greeting to my fellow 18.5 owners, this is my first post, as I as new to this site. I have acquired a hunter 18.5 from a friend and am in the process of fixing it up. 3 of the 5 fuses from the fuse board are missing. The switches from top to bottom read: RUNNING LIGHTS - CABIN LIGHTS - MAST LIGHTS - STEAMING LIGHTS - ACC. First, what is the difference between running lights and steaming lights? Second I find what replacement fuses ie what amp and voltage requirement go for what set of lights, do both the amp and the voltage have to match or just the amp, the only 2 that are there read 5A32V311 and 10A32V311 ( why 32V if I have only a 12v battery/) Third, what is ACC ? Thanks for any help you can give me

Running lights are for sailing at night and are the red, green bow sidelights and the stern white light. I believe you add the steaming light when motoring, and is a light either part way up the mast or at the top. If you anchor at night outside a marked anchor area you should have a white anchoring light at the masthead. Acc is probably unused in your setup and could be used for an accessory such as an added 12v socket, radio, etc.

Not sure about fuse markings - you obviously should have 12v fuses.

The anchor light, just to add to isaksp00 comment should be visible 360 and cast a light at least 2 miles. The steaming light is used while motoring (and not sailing - unless the motor is not running) and can only be viewed from the front (not 360). Acc means accessory and you can add whatever you would like. You obviously have a 12v system, but you need fuses with different amperages to suit the load. Usually running lights, cabin lights, etc. are 10 amp fuses. If you have a VHF Radio, that could be as small as a 1-3 amp fuse and some electronics use a "slow blow" fuse, but the product that you purchased should have info as to the fuse size.
