Hi
The centerboard on my H15 came loose sometime in the last few days. After some investigation it was apparent that the stainless pivot rod, which the centerboard revolves around, had broken off the plates it was welded to. Fortunately the pivot rod was lying on the sand so had all the parts.
Looking at the plates and the pivot rod, it was clear that there was a pretty poor weld to 1/16" plate that was then ground down during manufacturing. Has anyone had the same issue and had an effective fix for it.
I'm thinking of buttressing the pivot rod by welding on some additional flanges, but I'd be really interested in what other people have done
Regards
Simon
