It may or may not make a difference in the OP's boat, if the boat has a 2 blade prop and the shaft is easily accessible, turn the shaft so the prop blades are vertical. This puts the blades in the disturbed water from the keel and reduces the pressure on them from the boat moving through the water. Doing this reduces drag and reduces the likelihood of the prop spinning. Racers will do this with folding props to keep one blade from dropping down.
