I looked at a 1976 Albin Vega last week in Washington. She was clean
and very nice, but looking over the topsides I noticed that nearly
all the through bolts had a 3/4 to 1 inch cresent shaped crack
radiating from the head of the bolt toward the interior of the boat.
I could see a few of the bolts from below and there didn't appear to
be any leaking or damage. I'm not sure if they are cosmetic or
indication of stress damage. The mast had not been reinforced, but
there was no visible signs of damage to the deck around the mast or
below. Any idea's on what I saw? Thanks, Annon George
