Hull to Deck Joint Leaks

I a 1996 Passage 42 with have leaks on both sides of the boat in the area of the fwd bulkhead. On the port side that puts it in the head on the starboard side it shows up in the hanging locker in the V berth.

I have tried rebedding everything on deck in the area, except the windshield. The seal looks good but if other people have reported a sealing problem there I would love to hear about it. I am now also suspecting the hull to deck joint. Has anyone encountered this?

If you are getting water on both sides of the boat I would look for something that could leak down onto the bulkhead and run along it. And the source could be a aways for the bulkhead and running along the overhead, maybe at the mast (check the wiring)

I would double check the vberth hatch as well, mine was the culprit of a starboard leak only on heavy rain (hose was not enough) and wind from the port side.

I have a 1991 H42 and had the same basic issue, but I only had leaking into the hanging locker. I eventually found the source to be the hatch over the V berth. I wanted to re seat the hatch , but there was no way it was coming out! So I re sealed with silicone every hatch screw and this fixed my problem- good luck!

I have a 1991 H42 and I had the same problem, but only leaking into the hanging locker- I found the source was the hatch above the V berth- I resealed the screws holding the hatch in (I wanted to replace the seal for the hatch, but there was no way that hatch was coming out- it was in rock solid!!) and that has now fixed my issue- good luck!
