Has anyone experienced hull flexibility on the Hunter 216? Today after sailing in 15-20 knot winds I returned to my hoist and while closing up, I could not get the top hatch board to seat properly. I checked thoroughly for any dirt or anything that would have prevented it from fitting in the slot. I am concerned that the hull twisted and didn't return to it's design position. I did notice that the shrouds on the leeward side were quite loose while sailing but I think that is what happens on a lot of boats.

Your leeward shrouds should not be loose

while under sail. Relieve mast pressure by releasing the forestay and see if your companionway squares up. If it does re-attach forestay and tune the riggin. Get the appropiate Loos Tension Gauge for the wire thickness of your shrouds and tune to specs insuring the mast is straight. Check the base of the mast to insure its not giving in when tightening shrouds. There is plenty of info in the archives on how to tune.
