Hi, if one is trailering a great distance would one want to put some wrapping plastic around the hull to protect it from sand and pebbles? Is there any thing else that one would need?

I've trailered thousands of miles over the years and have never suffered any hull damage.
However, you can and will find lots of grease at times on the hull.

I'd worry more of having flats!!

I once had two tires blow out on the same trip.... not good when one has only one spare and is right in the middle of Alabama....... As said to me; "Everyone knows, everything closes at 12:00 on Saturday in Alabama" It was 12:10 when the second tire decided to blow!! Trust me NOT everyone knew everything closed at 12:00 noon on Saturday.....

Back in my days of youth in New Zealand, my parents hauled a 7m caravan (21ft mobile camper) around the country and we kids along with it (in the car). My dad had a 'quilted blanket' that affixed to the front of the caravan. I It was a standard assessory for the caravan and its height was up to the windows (so about 3-1/2 ft ?), and was vinyl and slightly padded (about 3/8") to absorb the impact of detritis kicked up by the trusty Holden stationwagon's rear tyres (we couldn't get tires !!).

Perhaps if you searched for RV supplies you may find a similar 'blanket' which could be affixed to the bow and probably reach back as far as the for'ard stays. Should be plenty of protection if you travel gravel roads or follow semis laden with rock.
