I recently purchased a 1986 First 375. When it arrived on the truck from So. Calif., I noticed the hull had "oil canned" where the truck pads were. The hull popped back out after a few days in the yard. Meanwhile, I hired a surveyor (who turned out not to know much about Beneteau's!). He cored the hull and found nothing wrong with the hull -- just about a 1/2" of laid up fiberglass.I originally bought the boat wanting to sail offshore with it. With the hull oil canning, I am not sure I want to be out in a 40-50k blow with a 10' breaking sea! Has anyone had or heard of any similar occurence with their Beneteau hull? Have you successfully navigated trans-oceanic?
