Hull number from Hull Identification number?

Hull ID number is XLYB3818M78D. I assume the 78 refers to the year it was built, what does the rest mean please?Thanks... Doug

That would seem to indicate....

that my Islander 36 is hull number 3818... but I thought Islander made only a total of 770 36's?Thanks again... Doug
