hull liner

We have a 1985 H40'. During the installation of air-conditioning, when the hole was drilled for the thru hull in the large sump, water came in from between the hull and the liner.We were told this happens on alot of Hunters. Any info as to WHY, would be appreciated. Thanks

Sandy,I would post this in "Ask an Owner" Forum. I thnk you would get a better response as it seems more appropo there.I am curious to see the explanation to this. I've heard of water under the framing struts. I am not sure where you are describing the location of the hole.Good luck,Mike D.

Hull Liner Defects

Sandy, I was looking to purchase a H40 in the near future, in the process of looking up info. on the boat I found this website to be of some help http://www.yachtsurvey.com/boatreviews/hunter28.htm it's a survey of a 28 hunter but in the first few paragraphs it mentions hunters negligence of good design when it came to the hunter hull figuration on the H40.good luck Randy
