I'm in the process of replacing my original 1979 cushions on my H33, and will also need to replace the hull liner upholstery. Does anyone have suggestions on the type of materials best suited to complete this project? Due to the condensation that forms I suppose that there is some type of underlayment or perhaps I could just put fabric over the top of it. Thanks

Fabric

I would use Sunbrella upholstery fabric. It is extremely durable and easy to clean. Greg W. SlipAway

lots of options for interior

Are you going to make your own cushions or have them made? If you are planning on having a new interior built by some pro's check out US Yacht Cushions in Florida. They do excellent work and know how to make boat cushions. There are different types of Sunbrella (exterior and furniture quality). Don't use canvas (sail cover) for the interior. It is not made for this purpose. It will abrade where ever you slide around on the material. They can give you advise on what works and what does not. No metal zippers. Vinyl on the underside of the cushions if it is going to sit on fiberglass. The interior cloth can be easily replaced with a similar product. It lasted for over 25 years so you may not care if it lasts that long again. Another option is to glue vertical battens to the interior of the hull and attach horizontal battens to them. You can use ash, mahogany teak or any other material that you may like. You could also add a thin sheet of foam between the vertical strips to help insulate for hot/cold.

Hull liner

We replaced the fabric hull liner with beige indoor/outdoor carpeting. It looks very nice and very easy to do.

Interior options

Thanks for the tip on no metal zippers, and vinyl bottoms. The idea about the battons seems interesting as well. There are a number of upholstery shops here in the maryland area, so now i'm getting quotes as we speak.

interior

Last year I redid the interior with bamboo planking. A link to this site is below. After a year it still looks good. It may take more time, than replacing the upholstery. I found getting the old interior off was the worst part of the job.
