hull ID location

I have a Hunter 33[2004} The hull id # on the starboard aft location is overpainted. Difficult to read.. Is there another location inside with the ID #?

One suggestion that has worked for many is to get some thin paper and rub a pencil sideways across the numbers.

How can you determine your boats number? If you wish to include on mainsail.

This may be slightly off topic but raises a question I have occasionally tried to figure out an answer to but haven't got around to asking yet. As a new sailor never have had any idea how the number on the sail is determined. It appears from the posts here it's some how tied to the hull ID is that a correct assumption?

Seems like you'd extract the yr built and have the number hull produced?
