Somebody made a bad mistake and it looks like 3 lives are lost.

A few years back a powerboater and his crew were drunk. Ended up killing passengers on his boat. Skipper is in prison for manslaughter I believe.
Sad. If you look at Coast Guard Regulations the onus is on the skipper to drive his boat safely. No excuses.

Bad weather, slow down, poor visibility slow down. You hit something -- it is your fault.

Sad. Another reason why I trailer my boat down from West Haverstraw this Friday instead of sailing down the Hudson. Don't want to get near the TZB on-water construction traffic (besides serious lack of sailing experience so far.....).

Can't complain about my experience with George. He was pretty helpful and the process was smooth overall.

George is excellent as far as sail boat knowledge goes. I had a falling out with him over PHRF. He is the regional PHRF guy and does not take kindly to being CORRECTED :-) Best of my knowledge, in the past 25+ years only one person has been able to get him to change a PHRF #, and that was me. Unfortunately I had to "force" the issue.

I see you got a brand new spinnaker with your boat. If you need a pole one of my friends has on available for $50. 8 ft. Almost perfect for the Capri 22.

Thx for the offer. Actually I got a spinnaker pole but I am planning on using the ATN bracket that slides over the furler instead..... I think it is a symetrical spinnaker as it has 2 corners named CLEW....
