John,The cost of the procedure will have to be sourced through a Raymarine dealer. The part numbers for the software upgrade in the future post should answer some of your questions. The hardware upgrade includes a complete processor replacement and can only be done by the Raymarine Service Center. The software can be purchased and done in the field. Just doing the software limits the enhanced functions. I would not recommend it for your product. Many of the functions, as stated previously, are limited to the color LCD displays.
