Does anyone out there know where the anti-siphone valve is supposed to be located in a HR312 Mk II serial number 568? I've been searcing all over and cannot find it, neither could the previous owner nor the surveyor who looked her over before I bought her last summer. There are no hoses leading off from the cooling system to any well-hidden installation either. I have absolutely no clues! Perhaps it's not needed? The engine has double-circuit cooling and a calorifier is connected to the inner (closed) cooling circuit.

HR312 anti syphon valve

Hi My boat, HR312 Mandala is hull number 564 and i too have searched for valve and found none. I have read somewhere that HR did not fit one. We have owned Mandala since 2003 and have had no problem with no valve. I did ask HR in Sweden by email but got no response. You may wish to try Vicki Vance at HR Parts and Accessories (info@hr-parts.com) - she is always very helpful. Let me know what you find.

HR312 anti syphon valve

Thanks, nice to know that mine isn't the only one. I'll try Vickie Vance. Someone at HR named Stefan answered me last fall that all inboard engines needed this kind of valve but I think he just answered without checking it out first.

Info from HR

I just received info from Vickie Vance at HR that "I do not believe there is the valve as the yard was not installing those during that era". I've also been recommended to fit a valve "well above the engine, between the seawater pump and the heatexchanger" by a well renowned Volvo-Penta dealer. After this I think I'll probably fit a valve to my boat for the added safety and considering that it's not a very costly installation. I don't feel that it nedds to be done in a hurry though.
