I'm trying to decide between a high-pressure inflatable floor versus a roll up floor for a 10' inflatable dinghy. We would like to deflate and stow it when not in use, so weight and ease of storage are a big factor. The local BoatUS person suggested that the HPI floors aren't as rigid or durable. Any thoughts? HPI seems fine

I have an Achilles LSI-96 with the HPI floor. If inflated properly (~8 psi for the floor), it is quite rigid. Deflated, it rolls up into a nice package. While the hypalon used on the floor is fairly thick, I'd always check your shoe soles for pebbles, or better yet, put down a rubber mat over it where people stand. --RonD

Inflateable Floor

I have had a Quicksilver 3.1 with inflateable floor for 4 years. Love it. Light, easy to store. Works well with davits. Planes well with an 8 hp outboard. Highly recommended. Bill

hpi vs rollup

We have the same hpi and love it, it's rigid and stores well. we also have the small quicksilver roll up-carry it on board-it's not anywhere as stable, flat bottomed, and is too small to carry much-but it rolls up really small to put in a locker. I'd get the hpi if you use it a lot
