Here is the plan

Phil and I will head over to McGarvey's Saloon and Oyster Bar between 5:30 and 6pm on Saturday the 9th. We'll try to hold some tables. The show doesn't close until 7pm so I know some won't make it until a bit later. McGarvey's is located close to the boat show at 8 Market Space. They have a website with directions: http://www.mcgarveyssaloon.com/ Look forward to seeing everyone there. Cheers! Bly

Parking at show

I don't know the exact street names, but if you follow the signs to the show, you'll reach a kind of traffic circle with a large red brick building with pinnacle on top (colonial style)at the far end. If you make a right (1/4 around), and go straigt for about a block, you'll see municipal parking signs (green), directing you to a parking deck (I think you'll make a right then another right). If I remember correctly it only costs $5.00 for the whole day. It is about a 15 minute walk to City Dock. I've used this trick twice, always had plenty of spots. Roc

Sorry, Only Newport

Sorry, I only made the Newport show. It would be interesting, though, to put faces to the names that I've become so familiar with on HOW.

Annapolis meeting

Sorry about the empty post. Janet & I attended the show all day Saturday. We like the 460! but didn't put a deposit on one. We went over to McGarvey's Saloon Saturday evening around 6 PM and did not see any HOW folks at least that we know about. We got a table in the annex and enjoyed crabcakes and grilled tuna etc. We left around 7pm without seeing any HOW folks. Sorry we missed you. We bought an autographed book on the NW Carribean from Nigel Calder's son Paul and a nice new brass clock for Wind Drift. We priced Air Cond systems and had a couple of Pain Killers at Pussers !

Forgot to where our HOW hats

I think half the folks at McGarvey's were HOW people but since many of us have never seen each other, we are a little hard to identify. (we need funny hats or something) Beth and I sat back at the Oyster Bar at McG's from 5-6. Seemed like a good spot for a gathering. Meanwhile, Bly was at the table next to the entrance talking to some HOW folks (whom I have met twice but forgot there names. My apologies). Laura and Stan Dent came by also (so I am told) but had to go find someone and bring them back. They never made it back. (I think Stan bought a spinaker jacket and was last seen headed downwind) At 6pm, Beth went to the ladies room and spotted Bly. We went forward and started talking. Shortly afterwards, Peggie (Treatment Plants for 20 Footers)Hall, Jim (Can we get more crab balls)Bohart, Phil(What's a floppy drive?) Herring, and Tom (Who are these people?)Neale came in. Later, a west coast dealer and spouse sat with us (Didn't get there names). After much crab balls, dip, and talking, Beth and I headed back to Virginia to pick up the youngster. The rest hung out til I don't know when. I have a photo and will try to get is posted soon. To everyone who was there, it was great seeing you again. I wish we could do it more often. To everyone we missed, we will have to try again next year. Mark PS. Phil won the dinghy race.
