How to wire the upper shroud to the spreader?

Have the O'Day owner's manual (poor copy) that shows the stay wired to the upper shroud, but not a clear pic and no instruction. Originally had a big wad of electrical tape around the connection to allow the shroud to slide over the end of the stay. Anyone have any photos and/or instructions on how to properly wire the shroud?

Shrouds

Haven't been on the mariner in a long time but the way my 23 is attached is rather simple. there is a grove in the end of the spreader in which the upper shroud fits in loosely enough to allow it to slide. It is held in place by a by a stainless steel wire approximately 20 gage which passes through a small hole near the end of the spreader and wrapped around the shroud on each side of the spreader. it should have at least 5 or 6 turns on the wrap and just loose enough to allow the shroud to slide through. A boot of the proper size to cover it and it's done. Good luck.

Shrouds

Thank you. I made a couple of hard clips to snap over the end of each spreader and fit into the holes near the end. They allow the cable to slide freely in the grooves. Plastic caps on the ends of the spreader will help forego any sharp edges contacting the sails. Thank you for the input.
