Some years ago a foursome rented a daysailer at a local marina. The only person who had any sailing experience was one of the young men who had "crewed" on a friends boat a couple of times. As they got under way the "Skipper" noticed that the starboard leeward shroud was slack. Dutifully he tightened the turnbuckle to take up the slack. They went on the opposite tack and he noticed that the port shroud was also slack and he tightened it down. They tack again and to his consternation the starboard shroud was still slack. Then on the next tack he had to tighten the port shroud. He kept tightening the shrouds on each tack until the mast suddenly plunged through the bottom of the boat! :eek: No substitute for experience. Fair Winds...

Laughing my *ss off............... if that dont make you laugh outloud, something is WRONG with you. Now how do you think they explained that one back at the marina. I dont think they offer a creative wriitng class that would even come close to helping with that one.

Thanks for bustin my gut:laugh::laugh::laugh:jimmyb
