I've been doing some sailing in the shallow Suisun Sloughs with the Autohelm Tridata depthmeter on. When it reads less than 10 ft depths, a warning alarm incessantly beeps until the "reset" or "depth" button is pressed. It stops beeping for a few minutes then on it goes again. No operator manual is available and I've tried every combination of buttons to deactivate or reset the depth limits but to no avail. Short of prying open the unit and installing an on/off switch on the sound generator, does anybody know how to disable or mute this annoyance without using the winch handle?

*%$# low depth alarm?

You should be able to set the alarm to any depth you want to. Tha Autohelm ST-50 is factory-set to 10 feet Shallow alarm. To set to annother value: *Push "ALARM" and "DEPTH" together for 2 seconds to select "Calibration" mode. *Push "DEPTH" to select shallow/deep alarm or keel offset required. *The selected value is adjusted using "RESET" to increase, or "OFFSET" to decrease. (1 second hold down provides fast scrolll.) Setting the value to zero shuts off the alarm Hope this helps, John Finch, S/V Doxology
