inspection ports
Check the mast base for an inspection port and inside the boat for access to the underside of the mast step. If you have access to those two areas (top and bottom of the mast step) then it is "possible" to drop the cable from the mast head and fish it through the step so you can run it to the panel.Couple of lesser known points: put the weatherproof grommet on the wind instrument end of the cable and put the cable through the masthead hole first. It is easier to futz with the grommet only toward the end of running the cable than to try and force all that cable through the grommeted holehaving the cable wrap around one of the halyards is a possibility. Before you drop the cable drop a stiff piece of wire and then check to see if when you tighten up on the halyard the wire acts like it is being effected. This is where good access to the mast base is real handy. Guess about the direction of wrap and unwrap the wire inside the mast base. Then recheck all the halyards. While possible this is certainly not fun. I'd be thinking of doing it during the next haul out when you can drop the mast fairly easily and work on the ground.Good luck
