How to remove the throttle lever?

Hi all... Now that the excitement of discovering that the engine is fine has worn off I have turned my attention to the throttle control. It will not move at all - I have now disconnected it from the unit on the back of the engine (combi unit?) and I can use the big lever on the engine to control engine speed and prop pitch.
So I need to remove the lever from the cockpit! I cannot see an obvious way of removing the handle from the mechanism to facilitate removal.. any ideas?

ps I have searched for this topic but no joy! I may be asking the wrong questions!

The lever is held into the outer aluminium by a grub screw which you will need a suitable size allen key to undo, even if you get this out the lever may still be frozen in.
I have tried release oils of various sorts, heat, physical violence the lot, and ended up cutting through the shaft with a hacksaw. As I' ve usually been changing the control sytem for something diffenrent the destruction of the lever didn't matter.

Is it the lever you can't remove, or the housing? The lever screws into the metal ring at the levers base. First, you'll want to remove the lever. Turn it counter clockwise to remove it and it will twist all the way out. You may want to try some WD-40 or something similar, spray it on, and let it sit for a day or so.

Once the actual lever is removed, you'll need to remove the lever base. The base is splined on the inside to align with splines on the housing post. It is set in place with a set screw or key (I can't remember which)...I think hex screw of some kind. Remove the set screw. Then spray more WD-40 into the post hole and allow it to soak in. You may be able to "gently" pry the splined ring off of the post using a back and forth motion. Once that comes off, you can remove the control unit fairly easy.

I did all of this on our boat a few years ago when I had the combo apart to replace the packing seal. I'm on vacation right now, but I'll try to post a drawing of some kind when I get back. If none of that works, try the hacksaw method :)
