The muffler is mounted through the wall the separates the engine compartment from the rest of the hull under the cabin. Does anybody know how I can get to that part of the hull to remove the muffler?

Remove Quarter Berth wall
You should be able to remove the plywood wall on the quarter berth. Just keep removing screws until it comes out. The previous owner cut a section out and hinged it but when it comes time to remove muffler or exhaust piping, I think it is time to remove the whole thing.
