Under the Swim Step?

If it is like my Vision 32, and under the swim step, you may have to cut it out. That is what I did. I rinsed it real well a few times, and used a grinder to cut the tank in half. It was a 12 gallon tank. I replaced it with two six-gallon tanks I linked together since those were the only ones I could get to fit through the locker openings. Yes, you definitely want to replace it with poly. this is a job you want to do only once. RD

Take a close look at

The back wall in your v berth. I dont have a 29 but I do have a 33 and you can take out the back wall and slide it out. Hope your that fortunate. Cheers Rick

From the aft

Rick is right. Remove the center panel from the inside and both holding tanks are right there. It may take a little wiggling, but they should slide out. While you're there, look down into the "fake bilge" between the two tanks. All kinds of interesting fluids may have assembled there over the years from overflow and leakage. Power vac the fake bilge and clean up with vinegar and baking soda. Recollection is that hard plastic tanks are preferred over aluminum.

tank should be plastic

On my 1995 model both the fuel tank and the waste holding tank are plastic. previous posts are right. remove the panel, disconnect the hoses, cut the straps and either tank removes very easily. be sure to strap in the tank securely when done with the job.
