How to install oar locks for Oday Javelin

Hey guys,

I've just acquired a 1976 Javelin and would love to be able to row her about when there's no wind. What is the best strategy for adding a pair of oar locks?

On my 76 O'Day Day Sailer I mounted oarlocks in line where the mainsheet attaches at the CB trunk. I made a rowing seat. I would suggest putting a topping lift on to support the boom above your head while rowing. Also while rowing, put the CB down just a little, it helps.

Thanks for the reply. How did you mount the oarlocks themselves? Did you drill into the fibreglass or did you use a block of wood to mount them on?
