also installing an inverter
I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I've mounted the inverter adjacent to the house batteries to keep the battery cable run as short as possible. On my 43, Beneteau left a blanked off spot for a battery disconnect switch under the main battery disconnects. I bought the same style disconnect from them and tied the house batteries on a new fuse through that disconnect to the inverter. This gives me an easy way to just isolate all of it.
On the 115VAC side, I've got auto transfer switch, so when I disconnect from shore it will automatically transfer to Inverter. I'm picking up the 115 just past the 30amp breaker in the aft lazerette, running shore power down to the autoswitch and then back to the aft lazerette where I'm picking up the power that leads to the main panel and the two 15amp breakers. From there it's the same. Essentially I'm just inserting the inverter and transfer switch into the circuit between the two sets of breakers.
I've got a remote inverter panel located on the same door as the radio and stereo. That's a simple phone cord interconnect to the inverter. That's the easy part.
The only item I'm still considering is a three way power switch in the aft lazerette to allow me to bypass the inverter / transfer switch in the event if fails. I like options. Blue sea makes a nice three way rotary switch.
Just prepare to be contorted to make the wiring runs.
