Hello folks; I have a 2002 356. We will be launching next week for 3 months of sailing the Great Lakes. I had promised myself that we would not spend another season WITHOUT PERMANT DECK WASH PLUMBING. (Hello bugs). So, here we are -I have my tools warmed up. I always do all my own up fits. I of course want to minimize extra work and material so I would like to utilize an existing thru-hull for the intake. I was thinking plumbing into the head intake. I want to place the spigot in or near the bow anchor locker. So if any sailor out there has done or had this done I would very much appreciate advice and if possible a diagram. Things like best plumbing routing methods, pump size/brand, and maybe a source for a deck mounted flush female receptical to simply plug in a hose. Thanks for your time and help

The SBO Search function is your friend ... This link on that exact topic has the wise advice of @Peggie Hall HeadMistress on the proper plumbing choices without adding through-hulls: https://forums.sailboatowners.com/i...own-pump-plumbed-to-head-water-intake.179180/

I've not done mine yet, but my plan is to re-route the head intake and use that one, as she advises. My other advice comes from years of pressure washing - water volume is at least as important as pressure. Get the biggest volume pump you can. As you're using outside water, you only have to worry about electrical consumption. Good luck, and let us know how it works out (with pictures would be great)!
