I hope you don’t take offense from my .suggestion of building a boat hinge.. The reason for building a boat hinge is because he the owner of boat hinge was caught up in a catch 22. You can’t do anything thing with the boat is because there is no documentation and part of the reason you are trying to do something with the boat is because there is no documentation.

One of the things that binds us together as a group/sailors is, we have similar scar tissue.

Just a weird idea, contact a metal recycler to see if they would be interested in a large chunk of aluminum for a very low price.
