My absolute least favorite feature of Hunters is the horribly cheap and nasty way the cabin sole panels are done, especially when compared to similar class boats from other vendors like Catalina.

I have one panel that is particularly squeaky. I mean, its so loud and annoying that we try not to step on it at all.

Anyone have any tips or tricks to reduce or cure the squeak?

There are two types of squeaks I've noticed on mine. 1) one floor panel rubbing on another floor panel; and 2) a floor panel pushing down on the 2x3 piece of wood holding up the edges. By far the most common is number one. For that, I sprinkle baby powder in between the cracks of panels and clean up the remainder. That gives me about a year of no squeaking. I've heard others use wax but i have not tried. For number 2: Check to make sure the 2x3 supports are screwed all the way in - you may need a right angle driver or do some contorting. Also, place some velcro on the bottom of the floor panels where they touch the supports. Just the soft part of the velcro, not the scratchy "hook" part.
